High Point Campaign Coffee Meeting Saturday, April 21

Let’s shoot for Saturday, April 21, say 10am-Noon at the Panera Bread on Hwy. 68/Eastchester Drive near the Palladium in North High Point for a campaign coffee meeting. Coffee and munchies are on your own but topics to discuss and consider as a small group include redistricting, ongoing discipline problems at all of our High Point schools (not limited to Ferndale, Welborn, Andrews, High Point Central, Southwest Middle and High), supply problems at all of our High Point schools and how to devise a plan of action.

I may not be in a position to do anything at this point in time, but I can at the very least be an advocate on your behalf, and that’s my goal.

Please RSVP if you can come. Please spread the word and tell your friends. If enough people RSVP, we may need to look at a larger location, but we’ll start small and then go from there.

And note that this is not a sanctioned-Panera Bread event, just show up, support the restaurant and buy a cup of coffee and a bagel or two (they’ll appreciate it) and we’ll appreciate good conversation, dialogue, and a call to action. By the way, this is not a “North High Point event,” this is open to everyone.

UPDATE–3/20/07, 7:51PM: The response to this meeting has been overwhelming. Thank you to everyone who has RSVP’d or simply stopped and read this post. Let me also say that this is not a campaign event either, this is not a campaign rally. I will not even accept any campaign donations for this; please leave your checkbooks at home. This is simply us getting together informally, sharing ideas on how to put our High Point children first, for a change.

E.C. 🙂

  1. I’d like to attend but that morning is already booked. Sorry.

  2. I will be there. I will def. bring up my experiences and both North Carolina Highschool and Compare them to that of Sequoyah Highschool in Canton Georgia. Which is greatly more populated than that of most High Point Highschools. Glad to hear about the topic.

  3. Thanks Victoria; spread the word; I look forward to seeing you next month; let’s keep in touch W.G.O., I kind of just set the date on the fly, but since this blog is picking up a lot of steam (and traffic), there’s a lot of momentum to meet and relatively soon. And believe me, this will not be our only meeting.

  4. Just keep us posted here how it goes. I’ll be sure to be at the next one.

  5. Absolutely…
