Recruiting Slow at Central Academy: HP Enterprise

Yesterday’s High Point Enterprise described the recruiting efforts at High Point Central’s newest academy as “slow.”

See this excerpt: Recruiting efforts for the specialty school are key in drawing attention to the academy’s hallmarks: small class sizes and hands-on lessons that give students a realistic approach to learning.

And that’s good, yes. But how much money was spent spinning this thing last year, despite repeated calls to scrap the academy? And how much is being spent to renovate the old Tomlinson building?

Another excerpt: Once fully functioning, the academy will include a state-ofthe- art culinary arts and student food service area, public safety labs, a media center and a science room. School officials havenot yet secured funds for the upgrades.

Oh, okay…looks like I just answered my own question.

E.C. 🙂
