NCLB is Working (maybe) says Ed. Secy.

…notice I said ‘maybe’…that’s only me editorializing.

U.S. Department of Education secretary, the Honorable Margaret Spellings, declared that No Child Left Behind is working. She cites a new report just released from the independent Washington-based Center on Education Policy which cites that the achivement gap between black and white students is closing, and that gains in nine states have been made in both reading and math. But losses have also been made in two states, including our northern neighbor, the Commonwealth of Virginia.
